Wow, can you set up my Action Plan? My wife is a High school teacher dreading tardy sweeps. I would love to be able to share your findings with her when you get them. Good Luck and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe thought of a teacher escorting me back to class would make me get to class on time. I know it would kill some of the kids at my campus. Your action plan looks great.
ReplyDeleteI think that attendance is a really good topic for you action research plan. It is an issue that affects most if not all school campuses. Your findings have the potential to help out a lot of campuses and frustrated teachers! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteExcellent topic of research! It seems as if everything is set up in order to get the best data and make an informed decision about if its successful or not. My question is about the student survey planned in Step 5: What is the purpose of the Student Survey? Students already, on principle, will hate the "tardy sweep." Also, how will you decide which students receive the survey? Just wondering!
ReplyDeleteYour plan look fantastic!!

Your plan looks great. I have a question on the implementation of the plan more than the set-up. How are you going about recruiting the "volunteer teachers" and encouraging them to participate in your study?
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

Great idea for action research plan...I am also implementing a hall sweep program due to soooo many tardies at our campus. I am calling it the "Tardy Monster"! I love the idea of sending the students to listen to classical music...I may incorporate that into my plan because I think it would devastate our kids...they only listen to rap and pop!! Lol. Great job!
